ABOUT LAKSHMI
Dr. Lakshmi Boyapati is a board-certified periodontist with two decades of clinical, academic, and research experience in periodontics and implant dentistry. She currently practices full-time a private periodontal practice in Canberra, where she specialises in advanced periodontal procedures including soft tissue grafting, implant placement, osseous surgery, and guided tissue regeneration. Prior to this she practice in Seattle, Washington for the past 15 years.
During her initial studies in Australia, Dr. Boyapati earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery with honors from the University of Sydney. She went on to complete her Master of Science and Certificate in Periodontics at the University of Michigan. She further advanced her training through the prestigious ITI Implant Scholarship at the University of Bern in Switzerland under Dr. Niklaus Lang.
Dr. Boyapati has held clinical faculty roles at the University of Michigan, the University of Illinois at Chicago, the University of Washington, and Swedish Hospital's General Practice Residency Program. She has published in peer-reviewed journals, including key contributions to the understanding of bone regeneration and the role of stress in periodontal disease.
An active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Periodontology and the American Dental Association, Dr. Boyapati is also a leader in continuing education and facilitating local study clubs.
Dr. Boyapati is known for her commitment to evidence-based care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the advancement of surgical techniques in periodontology.
